A wide 16:9 inspirational image depicting the Transfiguration scene. Jesus stands radiant on a rocky mountaintop, surrounded by brilliant golden light, with two heavenly figures beside Him. Below, three disciples kneel with heads bowed in awe and reverence. The sky glows with sunrise colors over distant mountains. The image includes the title “Seeing His Glory,” the scripture reference Matthew 17:1–9, and the text “Rev. Cheryl Farr, February 15, 2026.”
“God gives us glimpses of His glory not to help us escape life, but to strengthen us to live it faithfully.”

Matthew 17:1-9

Matthew 17:1-9 invites us into a moment when heaven briefly breaks through the ordinary and the disciples see His glory. Jesus leads Peter, James, and John up a mountain and reveals His true identity before their eyes. In that radiant scene, they witness Moses and Elijah beside Him and hear the voice of God declare Jesus as His beloved Son. This experience of seeing his glory does not come at a random time. It arrives just as the disciples are beginning to understand that the road ahead will include suffering and the cross. God gives them a clear vision of who Jesus truly is so they will have strength for what is coming.

The Transfiguration reminds us that faith is shaped by more than what we can see in daily life. Most of our days unfold in valleys filled with routine, uncertainty, and challenge. Yet God, in His mercy, sometimes grants moments of clarity that steady our hearts and renew our trust. For the disciples, seeing his glory on the mountain did not remove their fears or change the difficult path ahead, but it prepared them to walk it with deeper confidence. The voice from heaven offers one simple instruction: listen to Him. That command becomes the foundation for every step of faithful discipleship.

This story speaks to all who feel weary from the long journey of following Christ. We may not witness dazzling visions, but we are still invited to remember who Jesus is and to trust Him in every circumstance. The same Savior revealed in glory walks with us through ordinary days and challenging seasons. When questions linger and fear rises, we are called to keep listening, keep trusting, and keep moving forward, confident that the One who shines on the mountain remains present with us in every valley that follows.
