Dear UMW Sisters, Loved by God,
Above all, show sincere love to each other, because love brings about the forgiveness of many sins . . . . Whoever speaks should do so as those who speak God’s word. Whoever serves should do so from the strength that God furnishes (I Pet. 4:8, 11a).
Friends in Christ, let us be mindful of sharing our love with each other this year. We can love because God first loved us, and that is the only way our country can survive.
What wonderful attendance we had at our 2016 District Annual Meeting last October! Thank you all for your participation.
I hope every local UMW organization president has received her large brown envelope full of officer training information by now. If not, please contact a Seashore District Officer, and we will see that you receive one. If you are not the president now, please pass the packet along to the current officers.
Seashore District UMW is off to a great start in 2017. We have host organizations for our Spiritual Growth Retreat (St. Paul UMC, Biloxi); District Mission u event (Gateway UMC, Gulfport); and District Annual Meeting (First UMC, Long Beach).
Our goals for 2017 include the following:
- increasing the participants in UMW Reading program to 25
- increase 5 Star Units by 5%
- encourage local unit participation in using the new electronic membership registration
Remember to work on your local unit scrapbook page for our Seashore District’s 150 years of UMW memories and encourage members to pledge to support the Legacy Fund. The Seashore District Team is excited about the activities being planned for the year. I hope you will encourage your local unit members to participate.
